FAB Friday...Watercolor Words meets Playful Palette

My favorite stamp set in the Stampin' Up catalog is Watercolor Words.  I am so glad that it is not retiring this year!!! However, one of my favorite designer series papers is going away! Sniff! Sniff!
It is playful palette!
Here's a card I made using watercolor words and the playful palette designer series paper...
I cut the very vanilla at 41/4", used the 1" layering circle framelit to create the circle and the border circle with the framelits die and used the washi tape to add some interest to the card!  I used sweet sugarplum cs and ink pad.  After I stamped the flower in sweet sugarplum, I used the aquapainter to pull the color into the flower.  I used the solid black baker's twine to wrap a couple times around and then tie a bow.

Unfortunately, this paper is on the retiring list this year and is retiring as of May 31 or until supplies last.  But the great thing is it's only $6! Please make sure you check out the retired list and get what you need before something you love is gone!

Wednesday WOW! a card in less than 15 min...

Here's another card that I made with the sketch this week from CAS(E) this Sketch.  I told you on Monday I thought this sketch was absolutely amazing! A card goes together so quickly using this sketch with a piece of designer series paper.

I think this is a wednesday WOW! card because I need reminders that all great cards do not take more than an hour to design and make! A great card can come together in less than 15 minutes and be a WOW card! And tada...here's my card...

The base of the card is cut at 41/4".  The dapper denim cs is cut a 31/4" by 51/2"  The party animal designer series paper is cut at 3" by 51/2".  A 1" strip of dapper denim cardstock for the greeting.  I used the Happy Birthday from feathers together photopolymer stamp pad from Stampin' Up! I stamped it using the versamark pad and then used the white embossing powder  I snipped the ends of to make a "v" at the end of the cardstock.  The stars on the card are dapper denim incolor pack of enamel dots.

Map if for You Monday...happy birthday with succulent garden designer series paper

Today, I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch for this card!
A simple sweet sketch that creates a fabulous end result!
You have until this Thursday to create your take of the sketch and get it uploaded to their link!

Who has a lot of designer series paper? Who never has enough designer series paper? I do have a lot of designer series paper.  As far as designer series paper, I probably have enough to wallpaper every house on my block, but there's something about pattern paper...it just whispers to me and calls my name and calls out....look at me! I'm so pretty!!!! Loving paper can be addicting! :) And so rewarding and fun and....how would you finish the statement or explicative.... Loving paper can be addicting and....????

One of the many things that I love about Stampin' Up is that even though flamingo pink is not the exact color in this piece of  designer series paper from the succulent garden designer series pack...it still works!!!  The base of the card is cut at 41/4".  The flirty flamingo is cut a 31/4" by 51/2"  The succulent garden designer series paper is cut at 3" by 51/2".  I cut a 1" circle of flirty flamingo and a 1" strip of flirty flamingo cardstock for the greeting.  I used the Happy Birthday from feathers together photopolymer stamp pad from Stampin' Up! I stamped it using the memento black tuxedo black ink.  I topped off the card with the watermelon wonder ribbon tied around the top.  I will miss this ribbon along with watermelon wonder from the incolors!

FAB Friday! Clear embossing with SU classic ink pads! Oh my!

Today I want to show you something AMAZING!!!!! Did you  know that you can use Stampin' Up! classic ink pads to emboss with...oh yes you can!!! Just add a little clear embossing powder and now any classic ink pad you have from Stampin' Up! you can turn into an amazing textured dimensional look!!! Woohoo!!! I love when my supplies can have versatility and be used in different ways!!

Such a simple easy card that just pops with the peekaboo peach embossed background! Can you tell I am ready for someone to bring on summer like right this very moment? Dimensions for this card...I used 41/4" whisper white cs.  Peekaboo peach cs is cut at 4X51/4 and whisper white cs is layered on at 33/4 X 5.  I wiped the whole piece of whisper white with the embossing buddy, then randomly stamped in peekaboo peach classic ink pad.  If you turn the flower from the watercolor words stamp set you can kind of fit them pretty close together.  After I stamped, I hurried...quick like a bunny... and dumped the clear embossing powder on the stamped background and then embossed.  After that I cut a 13/4" strip and stamped hooray from watercolor words stamp set in peekaboo peach.  I didn't emboss the hooray.  I wanted there to be a difference between the greeting and the background.  I then wrapped the peekaboo peach around the top of the card and tied in a bow.
This card really does help me to think about summer! I know that April showers bring May flowers, but oh my yikes...enough already!

This stamp set is still available and not on the retiring list this year, but there are so many other great things that are retiring as of May 31 or until supplies last.  Please make sure you check out the retired list and get what you need before something you love is gone! Wednesday Wow!...a little embossing with feather together

My card today features embossing!
I really like embossing, but find that I seldom do it.  Not sure why I don't do it more often! Because it  isn't difficult and it doesn't take much time. It really does change the look of your projects and embossing gives a lot of texture and dimension  to a card without a lot of bells and whistles.  Some tips that I have learned with embossing is to use the embossing buddy before you stamp rubbing the entire piece of cardstock with it.  Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while you heat the cardstock, so you don't burn your fingers.  It is also nice to have a tray with a button that allows you to cover the cardstock with the powder and easily get it back into the container.  When heating, be patient and move your gun over the image until you start to see a change in the embossing powder and it becomes smooth.

I used the feather together photopolymer stamp set from Stampin Up! I love the soft sky color that is in the Stampin' Up! palette.  That and the white embossing creates such a classy simple card without any other embellies.  I used a 41/4" piece of whisper white cardstock and then mounted a piece of soft sky cs cut at 4X51/4".  The soft sky cs with the embossed feathers measures 33/4" x 41/2".  The whisper white cs with the greeting is 1" x 4".  I did use the versamark pad to stamp my feathers.  I think I get a better embossed image with the versamark ink pad.  I stamped the greeting in the soft sky ink and embellished it by stamping the feather several times.

This stamp set is still available and not on the retiring list this year, but there are so many other great things that are retiring as of May 31 or until supplies last.  Please make sure you check out the retired list and get what you need before something you love is gone! Map it For You Monday...sometimes better things

Happy Monday! Wow!!! It's hard to believe it's the middle of April.  I have been crafting, just not papercrafting.  My Mom has been showing me how to quilt.  I finished one.  Now all she has to do is put it on her longarm machine for me.
Today I have a sketch for you from over Splitocoast Stampers Sketch Challenge.

And I also used their color challenge for the week to see if I could come up with something!

I have to say I am loving the way mine turned out!
I don't use this feather stamp set enough from Stampin' Up!
I used soft sky, dapper denim and night of navy classic ink pads on a base of 41/4" whisper white cardstock to randomly stamp all over the card front.  I cut the pool party designer series paper from the sweet treat pack at 1" X 41/4" and a 1" circle.  I used soft sky cardstock for the 1/2" circle.  The whisper white tag is 23/4" by like 3".  I used the solid night of navy twine to wrap around 3 times on top of the dsp and tied it in a bow.  I did round my right bottom corner of my card with the project life corner rounder.

I am happy that this stamp set is not on the retiring list from Stampin' Up! I need to make some more cards with it! Hurry though...and check the PDF because other than stamp sets when it is gone, it  is gone, gone, gone and stamp sets will be gone May 31st.  You don't want to wait on consumable items....if you want them, get them now!
