Tuesday Turn Around and Wednesday WOW! Shaving Cream Technique

I started making my new card in this post on Tuesday...
while I was thinking about this card!  A fave of mine!

Because I made Tuesday....

And then I went to the store and bought some shaving cream tonight! I did start the card earlier in the evening, but I didn't finish it until a little after midnight....so this card has become a 2 dayer!

It is now the....
too! LOL!!!

Here's how I did it...
I sprayed a small plastic container with shaving cream.  I then put peekaboo peach reinker in the shaving cream ...about 10 drops all around and used my finger to swirl it.  Then I placed a piece of whisper white cardstock face down on top of the shaving cream.  I wiped the shaving cream off with a paper towel and here's what my results looked like.  I used tranquil tide, peekaboo peach and berry burst classic ink pads with the banners for you photopolymer stamp set and dies. The designer series paper strip is from the fresh florals designer series paper pack.   I embossed the you amaze me greeting, fussy cut and adhered to the banner popping it off the circle with the stampin dimensionals.  I used the pearls and whisper white baker's twine to finish it off.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Not only is the background pretty cool!   Here's a great way for you to create a fall card and not use fall stamps!  The colors scream fall!

Please click on the shopping cart on the right and use the hostess code if you would like to order anything to make this card! I can send you the dimensions that I used if you need them.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope you are having an amazing week!

Map It Monday Thanks for Everything Card

Here's the sketch I used from The Paper Players this week.  Such a great versatile sketch.

And here's my card...

Here's how I did it...
I cut a piece of lemon lime twist cardstock in half at 51/2.  And scored at 41/4" I used the naturally eclectic designer series paper and cut it at 4" by 51/2".  I cut the strip at 17/8 and then cut the banner end with my snips.  I used the Just Add Color Designer Series Paper with the feathers on and watercolored it using my aquapainter with the classic ink pads (soft sky, tranquil tide and lemon lime).  I started with the lightest color and then went to the darkest color.  I cut another piece of the naturally eclectic designer series paper at 31/4X 21/2 and stamped thanks for everything with the stampin up archival basic black ink pad.  I waited for the feather to dry and then cut out with my snips.  I cut about a 6" piece of basic black baker's twine.  I popped the feather up with stampin dimensionals.  After the feather was adhered, I added clear wink of stella to give a little bit of glitter and shine.  You can find all the supplies I used at the bottom of the post.  Just click on the supply item to find out more about it!

The greeting on this card says so much and yet is so simple! I am truly thankful for the people that are in my life! And those that cross my path through the big blogger world.  Life is just so full of bends and surprises along the way!

jar of love, bunch of banners, and lovely words thinlits oh my!!!

I remember seeing this quote several years ago and thinking what a fabulous way to wake up every morning! I actually have this quote hanging in my house now too! It helps me remind myself that wonderful things happen everyday in my life! And I am so grateful for those "wonderful" things on a daily basis!

Sometimes only picking one color and using white or monochromatic is a great way to get back to the basics.  Once we accumulate so much "stuff" we forget what it's like to just be beginning this addiction....I mean hobby! (lol) Today that's just what I did! I wanted to use as few as supplies as possible, but ahem(insert eye roll)....that did not happen!!!
I really must admit I do love the simplicity of the card and will probably make a few more like it, but using other colors!
I was looking at the sketch over at CASE this Sketch last night and this got my brain awhirling!

So...this was what I came up with!
I started with a whisper white 41/4 X 11 piece of cardstock and scored it at 51/2.  I also cut a piece of dapper denim cardstock at 31/4 X 23/4.  I also cut a 1" circle from the dapper denim cardstock.  Then I stamped with the heart from jar of love diagonally 3 times down the middle of the whisper white with the dapper denim.  Next I stamped the banner in dapper denim from banners from you and then stamped the sending you greeting from lovely inside and out inside of the banner.  It's a little off, but it'll do! I cut it out with the bunch of banners framelits.  Using the lovely words thinlits dies, I cut 4 hugs out in whisper white and then stacked them on top of each other adhering them with the tombo multipurpose glue.  I also cut the mini hearts in whisper white cardstock from the everyday jars framelits dies.  Please see card photo to put pieces together.  I used mini stampin' dimensionals to put the sending you banner on the card and then used the tombo multipurpose liquid glue to attach the hearts and the word "hug."

map it for you monday with a little banners for you....

Hello Monday and Welcome Back to another Map it For You Monday!
I hope you had a fabulous weekend!
Today I am here with you showcasing a sketch from
I was drawn to this sketch right away when I saw it!
And I can see that this will be a GOTO sketch for me!!!

Of course I had to use the new 2017-19 incolors to make this card (love them)!!!
Do you have them yet? The lemon lime twist is definitely becoming a very fast favorite of mine! And these three colors together!!! Wowsers!!!

So, here's my card based on the sketch...

I started with a piece of 41/4X11 whisper white cardstock.  Then added the lemon lime twist 1/2 inch strip from the eastern palace designer series paper.  I also cut a 13/4" (when cut)" circle from the eastern palace designer series paper. You will need another 13/4" (when cut) circle cut from the berry burst color theory dsp. Then I cut a 2"(when cut) circle from the layering circle framelits dies out of whisper white cs.  I stamped on the circle with the banners for you stamp set using the lemon lime twist, berry burst and powder pink classic ink pads.  I then cut out a banner with the banner die set in the lemon lime twist cardstock and stamped happy birthday in stazon with happy birthday gorgeous stamp set.  I cut off about 1/2 inch and then lifted it off the circles with stampin' dimensionals.  You can look at the photo of the card to see where to place the circles.  Such a sweet simple card where the greeting could be interchanged to make it so versatile!

sunday fun....with bella and friends!

A liitle inspiration for you today! Or maybe for me?!
I think as adults we forget that we should imagine! However, imagining is only a beginning! There is much work to be done once we imagine if we want it to happen! However, imagining is a start!
And I'm celebrating the fact that I'm imagining!  :)

It's Sunday and I'm posting! It is summer vacation for me for sure! Usually on Sundays I am preparing lesson plans and grading papers and getting ready for my 2nd grade friends! But it's SUMMER!

I really want the This Little Piggy stamp set that is in the new 2017-2018 Stampin Up annual catalog, but I haven't gotten it yet! So, this morning I thought I would stamp and color using the adorable Bella and Friends stamp set that I do have! It's adorable! I was also looking over at Freshly Made Sketches this week and thought the sketch was so fun!.

My card has the big circle, then you will see that my smaller circle is a cut out of Bella and a balloon.  The smallest circle is meant to be the cloud that Bella sits on.  I hope I didn't change the sketch too much!

Here's what I came up with...

I started with a base of 41/4 X 11 of whisper white and scored it at 51/2".  Then I cut a piece of crushed curry dsp from the color theory pack at 41/4 X 51/2.  Next I cut a 3" circle from soft sky cs using the layering circles framelits dies.  I stamped the bird and bella with balloon from Bella and Friends on a piece of watercolor paper and colored it with Stampin Up watercolor pencils and aqua painters.  I used the up and away framelits to cut out 3 clouds from whisper white cardstock and the heart using the berry burst from the color theory dsp.  I also used the hello stamp from banners for you and again used the color theory dsp to cut out the banner from bunch of banners/framelits dies.  Bella, the bird and the clouds they are on have stampin' dimensionals on them.  I also attached a stampin' dimensional to the heart and then just put snail on the rest of the greeting to adhere to the cloud.

fab Friday on Saturday! a little gorgeousness

I know it's not Friday, instead it's Saturday....and it's gorgeous here in PA!!!
So, I thought I'd share a little bit of gorgeousness with you! :)

How about this color combination...
I love it! It just POPS!
And it is a color combination that can be used all year long!
So glad SU added lemon lime twist to the 2017-19 incolors!

Here's the card I made with the new Happy Birthday Gorgeous SU stamp set and the bow builder punch along with lemon lime twist new incolor with  crumb cake and night of navy added in there...
I decided to use the night of navy to stamp the greeting since it was a dark enough contrast and I thought it matched really well! I used stampin dimensionals to put on my homemade punched bow to lift it off the paper.  The designer series paper is from eastern palace specialty paper pack.  I cut about a 1/2" strip and placed it on the card instead of ribbon.  I thought it was a great alternative.
Below please find the sketch I used to make this card.  The measurements make it so easy to put the card together.

Hope you'll make a card using the color combination and/or the sketch and share it with me in the comments section below! If you don't have the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set....it's a versatile and amazing set that is growing to be a favorite of mine! Wednesday Wow! Fixable/Beautiful Mistakes....

Today I want to show you how mistakes can be fixable/beautiful and actually be turned into an amazing card!

Yesterday I showed you this card...

Last week at my Come Stamp with Me event, I had stamped everything on the card.  Then I went to stamp the greeting and as I pulled the hugs greeting up off the whisper white cardstock, the block slipped out of my hand and went back onto the bottom of the card! Ugh!!! There was a black impression of the bottom with  hugs on it! I showed everyone how you can easily fix a mistake and turn it back into a usable card. We all make mistakes and instead of throwing out the whole thing, I always try to find a way to turn it into something else.

Here's my fixer upper.... (lol)
I cut off the bottom in a diagonal with my paper cutter and then added the bow  and the circles with SU bow punch and circle punches.  The bows are so easy to make! Just punch twice and put it together.  I used the fine tip glue pen to put the bow together.  Use a very small dot of glue.  I used berry burst, powder pink and lemon lime twist SU classic ink pads.  The whisper white cardstock was cut at 41/4" and scored at 51/2".  I only used scrap pieces of  berry burst and lemon lime twist cardstock on this card.   I used the new SU lovely inside and out stamp set.  I am really glad I made the mistake because this card would never have been!:)

ohhlala....new 17-19 incolors!

Oh my goodness....where did May go?! Sorry that I was away or ghosting here, but I am back now! Having a full-time teaching job and being back in 2nd grade for the first time in several years was a little overwhelming for me at the end of the year.  That's what I love about Stampin' Up... it can kind of take a place on the back burner for a little while I do what I need to do.  Any other part-time job I would not have that freedom.  I miss it so much when I am not creating and it feels good to be back!

The new SU catalog is OUT and there are so many things I want!!! This is such an exciting time of year with new stamps, paper and ink colors.  However, ne of my favorite things about Stampin Up has always been the quality and their choice of ink colors and cardstock.  These new incolors for 2017-19 are everywhere in the fashion world, so it is no surprise that they have made it into the crafting world.  So many great ways to just put these colors together!

Today, I am showcasing a card that I made with 3 of the colors!

It's a very simple and easy one layer card with very little embellishments, but it is so eyecatching.  The colors make this card pop!

All I did was stamp the sunburst from the new Lovely Inside and Out stamp set randomly on the front and back of the card and then used the archival basic black ink to stamp the greeting.  I corner rounded the bottom and punched 3 1/2" circles out of the lemon lime twist, berry burst, and powder pink cardstock.

Then I had to dress up the back for a little extra fun!
Make sure you take a look at the new catalog that is located on the margin of my blog or at the top in my pages of my blog! Below is a list of supplies that I used to make this card! Map it for You Monday....How to Card Display!!!

I am sharing something a little different today, but I am so excited about them I just had to share! We worked on them this weekend and I am loving the price of them and the look of them!
We made Card Displays out of 18X24 art canvases.  They were 50% off at Michaels...I got 2 packs of them.

Then I took the canvas off of them.

After that I stained them with a steel wool, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide mixture.  Here's how you can make the solution for pennies!

We purchased 2 sets of hinges for $3.29 each.  Attached the hinges to the back of the frames carefully by drilling holes and then handscrewing the small screws in, so you don't strip the screws.  I wanted my frames to fold back, so we attached the hinges to the back.

Then we got 6 feet of chicken wire, which cost $5.  We attached it to the back of the frames with lots of staples, so I don't cut myself when I set them up in the future.
They fold back flat and are so easy to carry and to set up.

If you have any questions, let me know!
They really were easy to make and were not cost prohibitive at all!

FAB Friday...Watercolor Words meets Playful Palette

My favorite stamp set in the Stampin' Up catalog is Watercolor Words.  I am so glad that it is not retiring this year!!! However, one of my favorite designer series papers is going away! Sniff! Sniff!
It is playful palette!
Here's a card I made using watercolor words and the playful palette designer series paper...
I cut the very vanilla at 41/4", used the 1" layering circle framelit to create the circle and the border circle with the framelits die and used the washi tape to add some interest to the card!  I used sweet sugarplum cs and ink pad.  After I stamped the flower in sweet sugarplum, I used the aquapainter to pull the color into the flower.  I used the solid black baker's twine to wrap a couple times around and then tie a bow.

Unfortunately, this paper is on the retiring list this year and is retiring as of May 31 or until supplies last.  But the great thing is it's only $6! Please make sure you check out the retired list and get what you need before something you love is gone!
Just go to my store and enter April's Hostess code.... EUWFWBRP.

And with a $30 or more purchase from my Stampin' Up store you can get this delivered to your inbox...
This is a tutorial with 5 cards that uses the watercolor words stamp set and the playful palette designer series paper.  Can't wait to send it to you! I know you will love these simple, yet playful cards!

Wednesday WOW! a card in less than 15 min...

Here's another card that I made with the sketch this week from CAS(E) this Sketch.  I told you on Monday I thought this sketch was absolutely amazing! A card goes together so quickly using this sketch with a piece of designer series paper.

I think this is a wednesday WOW! card because I need reminders that all great cards do not take more than an hour to design and make! A great card can come together in less than 15 minutes and be a WOW card! And tada...here's my card...

The base of the card is cut at 41/4".  The dapper denim cs is cut a 31/4" by 51/2"  The party animal designer series paper is cut at 3" by 51/2".  A 1" strip of dapper denim cardstock for the greeting.  I used the Happy Birthday from feathers together photopolymer stamp pad from Stampin' Up! I stamped it using the versamark pad and then used the white embossing powder  I snipped the ends of to make a "v" at the end of the cardstock.  The stars on the card are dapper denim incolor pack of enamel dots.

Unfortunately, this paper is on the retiring list this year and is retiring as of May 31 or until supplies last.  Please make sure you check out the retired list and get what you need before something you love is gone! Map if for You Monday...happy birthday with succulent garden designer series paper

Today, I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch for this card!
A simple sweet sketch that creates a fabulous end result!
You have until this Thursday to create your take of the sketch and get it uploaded to their link!

Who has a lot of designer series paper? Who never has enough designer series paper? I do have a lot of designer series paper.  As far as designer series paper, I probably have enough to wallpaper every house on my block, but there's something about pattern paper...it just whispers to me and calls my name and calls out....look at me! I'm so pretty!!!! Loving paper can be addicting! :) And so rewarding and fun and....how would you finish the statement or explicative.... Loving paper can be addicting and....????

One of the many things that I love about Stampin' Up is that even though flamingo pink is not the exact color in this piece of  designer series paper from the succulent garden designer series pack...it still works!!!  The base of the card is cut at 41/4".  The flirty flamingo is cut a 31/4" by 51/2"  The succulent garden designer series paper is cut at 3" by 51/2".  I cut a 1" circle of flirty flamingo and a 1" strip of flirty flamingo cardstock for the greeting.  I used the Happy Birthday from feathers together photopolymer stamp pad from Stampin' Up! I stamped it using the memento black tuxedo black ink.  I topped off the card with the watermelon wonder ribbon tied around the top.  I will miss this ribbon along with watermelon wonder from the incolors!

Unfortunately this paper is on the retiring list this year and is retiring as of May 31 or until supplies last.  Please make sure you check out the retired list and get what you need before something you love is gone! FAB Friday! Clear embossing with SU classic ink pads! Oh my!

Today I want to show you something AMAZING!!!!! Did you  know that you can use Stampin' Up! classic ink pads to emboss with...oh yes you can!!! Just add a little clear embossing powder and now any classic ink pad you have from Stampin' Up! you can turn into an amazing textured dimensional look!!! Woohoo!!! I love when my supplies can have versatility and be used in different ways!!

Such a simple easy card that just pops with the peekaboo peach embossed background! Can you tell I am ready for someone to bring on summer like right this very moment? Dimensions for this card...I used 41/4" whisper white cs.  Peekaboo peach cs is cut at 4X51/4 and whisper white cs is layered on at 33/4 X 5.  I wiped the whole piece of whisper white with the embossing buddy, then randomly stamped in peekaboo peach classic ink pad.  If you turn the flower from the watercolor words stamp set you can kind of fit them pretty close together.  After I stamped, I hurried...quick like a bunny... and dumped the clear embossing powder on the stamped background and then embossed.  After that I cut a 13/4" strip and stamped hooray from watercolor words stamp set in peekaboo peach.  I didn't emboss the hooray.  I wanted there to be a difference between the greeting and the background.  I then wrapped the peekaboo peach around the top of the card and tied in a bow.
This card really does help me to think about summer! I know that April showers bring May flowers, but oh my yikes...enough already!

This stamp set is still available and not on the retiring list this year, but there are so many other great things that are retiring as of May 31 or until supplies last.  Please make sure you check out the retired list and get what you need before something you love is gone! And if you would like a FREE tutorial on 5 cards made with the Watercolor Words delivered to your email inbox, place a $30 or more order from me this month!
