shades of blue/amusing challenge

I found this new challenge over at Blessings Ink...Amusing Challenge  and thought I would give it a try.  This week she wants us to use shades of blue.
Hmmmm.....it was interesting looking at my stash
and finding that am drawn to the lighter shades of blue(because that's all I really have).
I decided that I wanted to create a clean and simple card that was monochromatic.

Here's what I came up with.....
supplies-papers-solar white cs (neenah); ink-bermuda ink pad(amuse studio) and onyx black(versafine); stamps-lots of dots, happy thoughts and let it snow -retired (amuse studio); accessories- bermuda pearl stickers (amuse studio) and bermuda chevron ribbon (amuse studio).

I must say I am loving the simplicity and versatility of this winter card.
So easy to make ....just a 4 and 1/4 inch cut and a 5 and a half inch score.
Stamp the snowflakes (3 different) and the small circle.
Tie a bow....the trick is not to twist the ribbon and you will have a gorgeous bow.
You could change this up and put any greeting in there.
And....VOILA! you have a finished card!
Don't forget about the If You Give A Crafter A Cookie Challenge....
all your snow and snowman cards will go great with it!

update.....February 1st....I was picked for Top 3 for Shades of Blue Challenge over at Blessings Ink....Amusing Challenge!  Thanks so much for choosing me! It made me smile!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

if you give a crafter a cookie/the stamping boutique

Happy Thursday!
Over at If You Give A Crafter A Cookie, a new challenge goes live today and it is just perfect for this time of year!
You have until February 11th to get your project uploaded!
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

A great big thank you to our sponsor...The Stamping Boutique

We got some great digis to play with and they are donating a prize for this challenge!

Here's my card...

supplies: paper-solar white cs(neenah) and go! weekend (nicole); stamps-chilled cucumber xsoup(jillibean soup) and snowman snowglobe(the stamping boutique); ink-onyx black (versafine) and watercolor pencils (fantasia); accessories-white satin ribbon (amuse studio).

I wanted to make the card a little softer and warmer even though I colored his coat a little brighter.  The polka dot paper is really more gray, but in the picture takes on more of a purple cast.  Taking pictures of our creations is an art all in itself! ugh!!! Since I don't like the way the card above photographed, I decided to try it with a different pattern paper....from american crafts....
Here's the other version...
I like this one better!!!

I used the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches today to create my card.

And entering this in the wintertime theme challenge over at Double D Challenge Blog

And Creative Moments...always anything goes with an optional twist of winter
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great one!

happy happy birthday...

Can I just say I love the Splash product from amuse|studio?!
I would love it if someone called, emailed or texted me and told me I was receiving ALL of the colors. :)  They are just so versatile and so FUN!!!
Here's my card,,,
supplies: solar white cs(neenah), black cs, grapefruit cs and black woodgrain cs-retired(amuse studio); stamps-simple swirls and hooray(amuse studio); ink-onyx black (versafine), versamark(tsukineko), grapefruit splash and margarita splash(amuse studio); accessories- tag bundle(amuse studio).

I put the splash on the transparency from the stamp set and then laid it on the top of the stamped image.  You can control where you put it on the paper.  LOVE it!!!

I am entering this into the CAS(E) this Sketch this week..

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope you are having a great Monday!

you make me a happy camper....

It's a snow day so I just had to play a little, but NOT out in the snow!
Here's my tag I made...
supplies: paper-white blank large tag(paper studio); stamps-happy camper (amuse studio); inks-onyx black(versafine), watercolor pencils(fantasia), gelatos(faber castell), currant and lido ink pad (amuse studio); accessories- onyx stitched ribbon (amuse studio).

I don't think the picture does this tag justice.
It was so fun to use bright bold colors.
I used the gelatos like watercolors by coloring them on a piece of transparency and spraying water on it.  Then I picked the colors up with my pentel watercolor brush.
This was a lot of fun!

I am entering this into the Tag You're It Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you are having a great day!

happy birthday to you...

Here's what I did once I got all the snow cleared.. ..
I needed to make something with flowers....
I will be happy when spring is here!
supplies: paper- solar white cs(neenah) and sage cs(amuse studio); inks-onyx black(versafine) and purple gelato(faber castell); stamp-birthday greetings(retired from amuse studio); accessories-lavender baker's twine(the twinery) and small scallop die (spellbinders).

Here's a tutorial I created to show you how to make the flowers a few years back.  I only used 6 samll scallops for this one and I colored the piece of white cs with the purple gelato and then watercolored it.  The piece of cs going down the side of the card is a left over piece.  If you have any questions, let me know! They are super easy to make!

I am entering this in Time Out Challenges...CASE with your own twist...
And Seize the Birthday with extra topping Clean and Simple....

So glad you stopped by today!
Stay warm!

Over at The Sisterhood of Crafters our hostess....Lisa B wants us to Ring in the New Year!
Dig into your old supplies and pull out something you haven't used in a long time as well as using something new (that you might of gotten as a holiday gift or treated yourself to!) to create your project.  Hurry on over and get  your project linked up.  You have until Sunday, January 24th at 8pm EST.

So, here's what I came up with....
my old...the mists....
my new...the stamps....
supplies: paper-white cs (neenah); ink- onyx black(versafine)papaya and grapefruit splash (amuse studio); stamps-love and thanks (amuse studio) and happy thoughts (amuse studio); accessories- orange twinkle stickers (amuse studio)

It's been a long time since I played with my mists! It was so much fun to do the smoosh technique.  Spray some mists on a transparency surface.  I used my Tim Holtz mat.  Turn your cardstock upside down and smoosh into the ink.

Over at Happy Little Stampers, they have a CASE the Designer Challenge.  This month Kylie came up with this....

I am also entering this in the Something Old, Something New Challenge at Crafty Boots.
And Lost Coast Designs CAS Challenge.

Here's a close up of the tag...

I started out just making a tag to join the Tag You're It Challenge....
I was inspired by the heart and the elephant that Tracey used in her tag.

Then I figured why not turn it into a card.  I remembered seeing a tag on the card sketch over at the Share Joy Challenge.  I plan on sending this little card to Japan for my daughter's 21st birthday.  She is stationed in the Navy there.

And since it is a birthday card, I am joining the linky party over at Seize the Birthday.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you are having  a great weekend!
