My Resume

Objective:
I am currently seeking the opportunity to design papercrafts for design teams and/or manufacturers, so that I can share and inspire others with my work.  When I first started scrapping, it was all about leaving a legacy for my family, but there's also a part now that has shaped into a part of my ME time.  The creative side of me which I crave.  If I am on a design team and/or designing for a manufacturer, I will always have the latest and greatest product.  It's also the old addage...the more you do it, the better you are at it!:)

Educational Experience/Skills:
I have a BS Degree in Elementary Education.  I was involved in a Direct Sales Rubberstamping Business for 10 years where I taught classes, held clubs and marketed my business.  I am always learning and so passionate about papercrafting and scrapbooking.

Styles:
I tend to change my style based on what kinds of papers I am using, but feel that my pages have some sort of artsy flair  usually. My pages always have ink, paint or glimmermist on them.  I always scrapbook 12X12 pages.  Besides scrapbooking, you will see that I enjoy making 3D items and love making cards.  My card style has developed more into a cutesie, clean and layered style.

You can't see on either picture that I stamped in pebble snowflakes on the base of the card.:(

Here was the Muse Card by Therese Calvird.

I got some mojo last night (at least, I think).  So, I'll be sharing a few more this week!
And hopefully my photos will be better!
Thanks for stopping by today.

Hello!

supplies: paper-imaginisce and amuse studio; accessories-dots (paper studio), cork hello (paper studio), cloud die (amuse studio)

I used the Freshly Made Sketches #156 to make this card.

I just kind of dropped off the face of the blog world! Now that all is OK...I will share.  I have a brain aneurysm on my internal carotid artery behind my right eye.  In April of 2010 I had 13 metal clippings placed in my ICA neurosurgically.  I found out last spring that the residual of the aneurysm was almost as large as the one in 2010, so they wanted to do surgery again.  I should have known something was up again...my headaches/migraines were so much more frequent than what they were say in early 2013.  So...now I have a stent via inserted neurosurgically.  Currently, I am taking Plavix and baby aspirin.  I go back in November for an MRI/MRA.  If it shows that the aneurysm is smaller they will do an angiogram to confirm and then I will be able to go off of the Plavix.  The bruising is phenomenal and  I am praying that I will be able to go off of it in November instead of February.  Thanks for wondering where I was! :)

Have a great day!

Wishing You Well!

A very near and dear friend of mine was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  When I saw the card from Kimberly Weiner over at Muse Card Club ...right away I thought...I know what stamp set I would use and could change that up a little to make mine look like this....

supplies: paper-vanilla (amuse studio) and watercolor paper (strathmore); ink- black (stazon), coffee (amuse studio), watercolor pencils and refillable marker brush; stamps: (stampin up) and (unity stamps); accessories: ribbon (amuse studio)

Here was my inspiration...

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you had a great day!

You are so ...card!

Here's my take on the Muse by Therese Calvird over at Muse Card Club this week.
I was inspired by the inlayed "you" and the different fonts.  I had one heck of a time with the you that I cut on my cricut and getting it to lay correctly.  I think it looks messy, but I spent way too much time on it not to post it!!!
supplies: cardstock-sugar (amuse studio), lido (amuse studio); ink- pebble, slate, grass, bubblegum, and ocean (amuse studio) and tuxedo black (memento ink); stamps- little yellow bicycle and studio g; embellies: k and co. heidi swapp and cricut cart hoot and holler.

Here is Therese's card...
I love it!!! Everything about it! Great job Therese!

Sorry I've been a little MIA!
Here's why!
I am wearing it on my left foot after an injury at school.  I'm not on crutches.  Thank goodness!!! But until I get home...I am exhausted! Only 2 more weeks left to wear it, so I'm saying woot! woot! to that!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and for all the sweet comments that you've been leaving me!
Have a great day!

Holiday Wishes!

supplies: sugar cardstock (amuse studio); ink- slate, lido and bubblegum (amuse studio); stamps: cool yule (amuse studio) and holiday collection (stampin up)

I am  entering this into the Muse Card Club challenge this week based off of the card that Gillian Ross designed.
I got my inspiration from the colors in the card and instead of faux stitching around the card, I sewed it with the sewing machine instead.
I am also entering this in the Holiday Challenge at Addicted to Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you are a having a great day!

Thank You!

I want to personally thank Darnell for featuring me on her blog the other day! How sweet! If you haven't been to see her blog, you need to go.  Look at her Playhouse...OMW...it's amazing!!! And she is FUNNY and of course very talented! I am also sending Darnell this Thank You card via cyberspace.  Big hugs to you Sweets!;)

Here's my card...

supplies: papers-june bug (basic grey) and sugar (amuse studio); chip stickers- june bug (basic grey); stamps- handscripted (amuse studio); ink-tuxedo black (memento ink) and bic sharpie marker; embellies- white enamel dot stickers (recollections).

I used the spritzer to create a subtle texture on the white cardstock.  I thought this June Bug collection from Basic Grey was perfect for the challenge and I caught a glimpse of the price tag on that pack of paper....oh my!!! And this collection is how old?  LOL!;) I think I should have used vanilla cardstock instead of the white? It is what it is!

Everyone has been talking about the distress marker spritzer and I'm thinking...wait...do I still have mine from Stampin Up! or did I get rid of it?
I did find it and was very bummed because I couldn't fit the sharpie or bic permanent markers in it when I tried to put it in the way your supposed to and thought..I'll have to get one of the distress marker spritzers....but....tonight I tried to put the marker in backwards and woot! woot! it worked.  (So, you have to back the marker in from the tip.)   Hope that makes sense!

I was inspired by the two week combination challenges that CAS(E) this Sketch! and Runway Inspired Challenge blogs currently have up!

Thanks for stopping by today!
So glad you are here!

Butterfly card

Over at Muse Card Club, Marion Vagg made this sweet little flower card.  I just had to try my hand at it this week.  So, while I was at my Mom's yesterday (after I drove 21/2 hours) waiting for her to do some alterations on Kati's prom dress, I put this together.

suppplies: Miss Caroline/Dolled Up (my mind's eye), butterfly (sizzix), bling (k&co)

My inspiration was the sketch and the wood type background! As I say to my students, this was pretty easy peasy lemon squeezy, but
I love how simple, yet sweet this came out!
I am also entering this into CASology Cue Card Challenge

Happy Holidays

Merry Monday is having a challenge to use Christmas words and decorate each letter and over at Christmas Card Challenges they are having an Anything Goes Challenge.

Here's my card ...
supplies: paper-vanilla, cranberry and twas the night (amuse studio), perppermint (crate paper); ink-tuxedo black (memento); stamps-big on christmas (stampin' up) and embellies- minibrads (stampin up)

I thought this stamp was perfect for the challenge with the one letter the Christmas tree and then the rest of the letters needing to be watercolored.  I didn't have any ribbon that matched, so I decided to make some faux ribbon.  For the faux ribbon  in the left hand corner, I used a strip of paper and tied it in a knot (very carefully).

Thanks for stopping by today!
It's so nice to see you here!

Welcome Little One

I found this new challenge blog a few weeks ago...Cure for the Monday Blues and haven't been able to participate...
and today I am just making it! (LOL)

And here's my card...

supplies: paper- (american crafts) and sugar (amuse studio); ink/color- tuxedo black (memento ink) and colored pencils (fantasia); stamps- solid stripes(stampin up) and little peanuts (amuse studio); embellies- buttons (jenni bowlin)

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the elephant.  I also fussy cut the scallops from a piece of the 6X6 pattern paper.  Then I stamped the striped background on the sugar cs and attached the fussy cut scallops.  I then popped the elephant up with some popup glue dots, stamped my sentiment and added the buttons.  I was inspired by the stripes, colors and "baby" feel of the room that was in the picture.

I should also say that my  card was inspired by this sketch (loosely) and the colors.  This is a new sketch challenge that Laura Davis is doing called Poppy Sketches.  Go check it out!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Thinking of You

I really like this  sketch from Seize the Sketch this time.

And I went to Michael's last week and knew that the DCWV Sunday Afternoon Tag Stack would be perfect with this sketch.

Here's my card...

supplies: paper-sugar cardstock (amuse studio), the pier (crate paper), sunday afternoon tag stack (dcwv); inks- tuxedo black (memento ink); stamps-just my type (amuse studio); embellies- red heart creative candy (amuse studio)

There you have it...so simple...yet fun!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great day!

Warm Wishes

Over at Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Blog...it's all about snowmen this week!
I love the fact that when I make a Christmas card...I have one more different one to use instead of a pile that are all the same.  It's a good thing that this is only the paper kind of snowman and they are adorable! I love this kind of snow!

Here's my card...

supplies: paper- blush and ivory cardstock (amuse studio) and bundled up (crate paper); stamps-celebration (little yellow bicycle); ink-tuxedo black (memento ink); embellies-black label letters (tim holtz) and red pearl creative candy (amuse studio)

I also followed the sketch over at Seize the Sketch.

I kind of flipped it a little! I really like how it turned out!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great one!
