February Crop Addict Kit and Projects!

I had a lot of fun playing with this kit!
Hope you enjoy my projects!
All you have to do is click on the kit links above and it will take you directly to the store to buy it!!!

Here's my first layout I made...
This is of Gabrielle and I when we went to Georgia this past summer.  We actually stayed for a few days in South Carolina right by the beach.  It cracks me up to look at how tan she is compared to me and I was thinking I was darker than usual.  I just love those Coaster Squares that came in the add on kit option!

Supplies used:
Crop Addict February Kit
Crop Addict Add on Kit
Sakura Black Gel pen
basic grey brown button
dark brown chalkbox ink pad

My second layout:
This summer we took my brother and his family to sightsee a little of the history in Gettysburg.  One of the stops we made was at the "new" Gettysburg Visitor Center.  Abe was right there waiting for the kids.(LOL) I love how the rubon letters came out in this one.  I cut the crystal swirl a part and then colored it in brown sharpie.  Then those are buttons with pearls in the middle of them.  Kind of thought that looked cool.

Supplies used:
Crop Addict February Kit
Crop Addict February Add on Kit
Black Sakura Gel pen
Basic Grey buttons
pearls
brown Sharpie marker
Dark brown chalkbox ink pad

My third layout...
This page actually looks so much better in person than photographed.  Don't  you hate that?! This is also pictures from our Georgia trip this summer.  We spent almost an hour trying to find Chippewa Square after we rode the bus tour.  The girls wanted to get pictures where Tom Hanks sat in the movie.  While we were there we met this "Island Man," as he called himself.  He told a story that went along with the palm reed roses.  By the time he was finished with his story, he had a rose made.  The girls enjoyed listening to his stories and talking with him.  I thought the title Mama Always Said from the Bella Blvd Blurbs in the Add On kit was perfect for the title.  Do you see how my flower is popped up? I added a circle piece of chipboard behind it to give it some pop from the page.

I also used this FAB sketch from Tina McDonald over at Magistical Memories
As you can see my layout kind of took on a personality of its own!:)

Supplies used:
Crop Addict February Kit
Crop Addict February Add On Kit
Black Sakura Gel pen
Circle punches
circle chipboard
Dark Brown Chalkbox ink pad

Then here's a few cards that I made with the kit:
Supplies used:
Crop Addict February Kit
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Chandelier
Black Sakura gel pen
Doodlebug Shin Dig letters

Supplies used:
Crop Addict February Kit
Crop Addict Add on Kit
scallop punches
pretty in pink SU ink pad
more mustard SU ink pad
scrap brown ribbon

Supplies used:
Crop Addict February Kit
Crop Addict February Add On Kit
heart punch
1" circle punch
old olive SU ink pad
pretty in pink SU ink pad
Dark brown chalkbox ink pad
Brown sharpie marker

Hope you enjoyed looking at my projects and I have inspired you.
I have so much of my February Kit left, so I'll be able to make some more!!!
Head on over to Crop Addict to see what the other DT members are doing with the kit too!

Week of January 30th LCOM Card Challenge

Here's Jerusha's sketch.  The added extra challenge from Susie is to use ribbon on your card.

Here's my take on the sketch...

Supplies Used:
pattern paper and chipboard- Mix and Mend from Sassafras Lass
cardstock- Certainly Celery from Stampin Up!
ink-Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede ink from Stampin Up!
ribbon-ivory seambinding from Stampin Up!
stamps- from Stampin Up!

I am really pleased with how this came out! One of the things I love about being on the LCOM Card Team is that I can use up what's in my stash to create my cards.  If your stash is anything like my stash...then you have a lot to choose from and it can be overwhelming! But before Christmas, I bought the kit pack that Sassafras Lass was selling on their blog.  I just couldn't resist.  So, I thought I would pull it out and try to use it today for this card.   Hope this inspires you to use this sketch and link your post to Mr. Linky at the LCOM blog by Sunday evening  February 6th at 8PM EST for a chance to be our next GDT for the week of February 14th and 15% off your next LCOM order.
Happy scrappy crafting and thanks for stopping by!

TrailMakers Snow or White Space Challenge

I have to tell you I was kind of scared of this challenge.  But, this card went together so quickly! I used the journal spots page with the blue snowflake on it and covered it up with the mug.  Lots of white on that tag! I had to use my dark brown chalkbox ink pad and my distressor to ink it up and give it a little character.  Then I used the crystal stickles to give some glittery white feel to the card.  I also cut the wire pompom trim a part.  All I did was cut the wire off each end of the pom poms and attached them to the mug with flat popdots.  After that I used the white sticker letters from January's Paper Trail Kit. Changing up the size and color of the letters adds even more texture to the card.  I am going to give this card to the art teacher at school who had a birthday yesterday! I know she will totally appreciate it!

Supplies:
pattern paper-Wintertime Collection by Echo Park
stickers-Wintertime Collection by Echo Park
trim- in January's Kit from The Paper Trail
stickles-Ranger Crystal
All items above can be found in January's Kit from The Paper Trail. Have you gotten yours yet?
ink-dark brown Color box Chalk ink (from my stash)

Now it's your turn! Let's see your project using lots of white space or some sort of snow, etc.  When you make it, come back here and link it to Mr. Linky, so you will have a chance at a GDT position.  Can't wait to see your creations!
Happy creating! Thanks for stopping by today!

Easy Card Organizer!

LCOM is continuing their Winter Wonderland Crop all this week. I put together this video to share how to make a super quick and easy card organizer. As I told them, no laughing allowed. It is only my 2nd video and I didn't do any editing. I didn't even use a video camera. I used my point and shoot which has video capabilities. This really is a great organizer! Hope you enjoy!

Krisis Kreations Milk Cartons

Look at these adorable milk cartons that I whipped up quick like a bunny last night! It's easy for me to tell you my supplies...Imaginisce Happy Birthday pattern paper and stickers and ribbons. Aren't they just adorable? And, of course, you know I used Krisis Kreations templates.
This is the short size of the small size milk carton.  It went together so easy!!! This would be great for party favors at your next birthday party.

You can get it here at MScraps!

This is the large tall milk carton box.  Don't you just love the birthday cake that has wire on it and makes it pop right off of there.  This could house a cool little birthday present instead of your run of the mill wrapped present!

You can get it here at MScraps!

Krisi is guest designing  at MScraps this month.  Make sure you go check it out! Hope you enjoyed stopping by today and have some ideas for your next birthday party that you are planning or attending!
Happy creating!!!

Make Your Own Embellishment Challenge at Trail Makers!

I love this Wintertime Collection by Echo Park that is in The Paper Trail Kit for January! I had so much fun making this layout! Adding a circle around the snowflake with my sewing machine created a really neat effect on this layout. For about 1/2 of the circle I used my hand to move the sewing machine with the dial. Then I couldn't stand it anymore, so I got off my circle. I thought I did a good job fixing it by sewing around it again and evening it up. Punched out circles with a pop dot on the back makes an automatic embellishment. The other thing I did was use the other 1/2 of my chipboard circle from my debut layout. I covered the board in the brown chalkbox ink and then I kind of bent it up to make it look like leather.
Supplies:
pattern paper: Wintertime Collection Echo Park from January's The Paper Trail Kit
stickers: Wintertime Collection Echo Park from January's The Paper Trail Kit
bling: Creative Charms Seasonal Medley from January's The Paper Trail Kit, Kaisercraft... my stash
chipboard: my stash
ink: color box chalk pad
Thanks for stopping by today. I know that you can make your own embellishment for your next scrapbook page and link it here, so we can give you some scrappy love!  You have until January 15th!

Happy crafting!

A great way to start 2011!

I am standing at the sink peeling 10 pounds of potatoes around 2:30PM EST on Saturday, January 1st for my husband's family Christmas, but because it's New Year's we always have pork that's roasted in sauerkraut all day and mashed potatoes. Yum! Both my husband's and my family have Pennsylvania Dutch in our backgrounds.  It has been passed down through generations and my grandmother always told me that you have to eat that on New Year's Day because it will bring you good luck for the year.  Anyways, my phone started ringing in my pants pocket.  I pulled out my phone and looked to see who was calling.  There was only a number on it and I didn't recognize the number.  I walked into my sister -in-law's dining room and answered the phone.  Here's how the conversation went: (I think!)
Me: Hello!
Debbie: Hi...this is Debbie from Crop Addict!I have a few questions about your Design Team application.
Me: OK (gulp...heart palpitating and thinking...there's no chance in heck)
Debbie: Are you still interested in being on the Design Team for Crop Addict?
Me: Yes!
Debbie: Well, would you like to be on the Design Team for Crop Addict?
Me: Yes...of course! (I think it took me a second to answer because I had to play back in my mind what she just said!)
Debbie: Welcome to the team!
Me: Thank you so much!
I felt bad because I didn't even tell her Happy New Year! I was just so flabbergasted! I have to say I absolutely don't remember peeling the rest of those potatoes! LOL!!! I am honored to have been chosen to be on Crop Addict's Design Team with all these amazing designers!

Debut Project for The Paper Trail January Kit

This is the fantabulous kit from The Paper Trail for January.  It is just amazing! I know I said that last month, but it is another amazing kit.  If you love Echo Park...you are sure to love this kit! There are also some great embellies from Creative Charms.  Look at that pom pom wire fiber "ribbon" that looks like little snowballs and see that chocolate ribbon with the polka dots...well...when I felt it, it has the consistency on the back of it like the ribbon that you wrap packages with and then curl it all up with scissors.  I just had to try it to see if it would work and guess what...it did!!! Can't wait to try that on a project I will make later on this month.  That sticker element page is so fun! Putting pop up dots on those or just keeping them as is jazzes up your page immensely! Ok...enough talk about the kit, just go buy it! I promise  you will NOT be sorry!

I found this sketch over at http://www.magistalmemories.blogspot.com/ and thought it would be a good starting point for my layout!

Here's my debut project!
See, I told  you I loved those element stickers! You can spot them all over the place on this layout! When I got the kit this month, I knew exactly what pictures I wanted to use. This is the first time I have ever scrapped an 8 1/2X11 picture. It took me awhile to feel that I was doing the picture justice. My husband and I just love this picture of Jeremy. His blue eyes are so beautiful and it shows so much in this picture. I think I really captured his excitement of the almost 2 ft of snowfall we had last February. Notice the duct tape on the glove. It's not like he doesn't have other ones, but he really likes these!

Supplies:
paper: Wintertime Collection from Echo Park from January's The Paper Trail Kit
stickers: Wintertime Collection from Echo Park from January's The Paper Trail Kit
bling: Creative Charms Seasonal Medley from January's The Paper Trail Kit
ribbon: Stampin Up
brads: basic grey chipboard: from my stash
letters: Making Memories
ink: colorbox chalk ink

You need this kit!!! It is absolutely amazing!!! Make sure you go and get it at The Paper Trail before it's gone. You don't want to miss this one!

Have you been to TrailMakers blog yet to see the new challenge posted? If not, you'll want to rush right on over and check it out for yourself! I'll tell  you a little, but you'll get more of the details at the blog.  This time the challenge for the next two weeks is to create your own embellishment and put it on your layout.  Now I know so many of you out there are amazing at this and you do it automatically.   Hop on over and share your project with us, so the team can go and give you some scrappy love!
