Her Endless Love

As I was perusing my gallery of photos, I came across this photo and thought to myself that will be perfect for the My Endless Love Lyric Challenge.  When Kati got her cell phone, I knew that we better get unlimited text messaging.  Wow! Was I ever right! She texts more than the other 3 of us all put together.
She is definitely our social butterfly.
To make this layout I used a diecut piece of my own paper as a pattern to trace and cut out for my layout.  I sanded, inked and distressed all of my pieces and had a great time using my sewing machine to draw attention to my title.  The "Enjoy!" stamp from Everyday Life greetings stamp set from My Pink Stamper was perfect to add onto my bunch of prima flowers.
So, my question to you is do you have The Paper Trail Kit for February yet?
You can get it at the store! It's a beauty!

Supplies used:
cardstock-baja breeze and daffodil delight from Stampin Up!
stamp-Everyday Life greetings from My Pink Stamper
ink-dark brown chalkbox ink
letters-The Paper Trail Kit for February, Making Memories
heart punch-EK Success

My layout was based on this sketch from Pencil Lines.  Love it!!!

A big shout out to My Pink Stamper for donating the Everyday Life Greetings stamp set this month.
I've had a blast using it!

Are you participating in the challenges, so that you can earn points to win the stamp set?
Just think, you'll also get another layout done!

For the Love of Track Layout

This week the challenge at LCOM for the Big Brother contest was to scrap someone you love, use the word love, misting, hearts and journaling.  I chose to use Kati's track pictures from last spring.  She's gearing up for track right now and is so excited about running.  She certainly doesn't get that from me. (LOL!) It was FUN to use Sassafras Lass Sweet Marmalade for this layout.  I cut out a bunch of pieces for my embellishments.

I think this also works for the Challenge this week at Crop Addict.  Lisa wants us to create a scene on our scrapbook page.

Here's a close up!
Supplies used:
paper-Sweet Marmalade Sassafras Lass
ink-Colorbox Chalk charcoal ink, Tattered Angels glimmermist
letters-Sassafras Lass Sweet Marmalade, Making Memories little letters

And I used this sketch...Sketch #224  from the Pencil Lines blog.
My layout went together super fast all because of this super sketch!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a scrap happy day!

Card Sketch #20

Joanne designed the sketch this week at LCOM! Here's my take on it! I broke out my Cricut Expression and my Big Shot to make this card.  I'm trying to use more of my scrappy tools this year.  I surely know this isn't one of my favorite cards I've made, but I do think that the stitching on the card really makes it come alive.
Supplies used:
cardstock-Certainly celery, regal rose, apricot appeal and naturals white from STampin' Up!
ink-all the same colors as cs from Stampin Up!
buttons-Stampin Up!
ribbon-black grosgrain from Stampin Up!
accessories- filigree embossing envelope for Sizzix, Storybook Cricut cartridge

Here's the sketch I used...

By the way, the Card Team has moved to Let's Capture These Sketches over at LCOM.  Make sure you check it out this week and enter using Mr. Linky, so that you can be our next Guest Card Team Member and get 15% off your next LCOM order.   You have until next Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 11PM EST to link your card to Mr. Linky for a chance to be our next Guest Card Design Team Member for the week of March 1st. I have had this banner template of Krisi's for awhile and have wanted to do something with it many times.  Finally, I got around to it and I am so glad I did.  There are 3 sizes included for each shape.  Love how easy it was to print out and then just trace and cut!

Snow Day Fun!

Played around with this sketch from Creative Scrappers the other day to make my layout
for LCOM Big Brother.
Amarylis did a fab job designing this sketch!

On my layout, I had to include sewing, blue and a snowflake.  I stitched a circle with black thread.  These  pictures are from Winter of 1999.  Before we had the digital camera and got all our pictures developed.  There are so many more of them! Ugh!! It's so amazing to me how quickly the kids grow.  Gabrielle wasn't even in Kindergarten yet! This day just seems like yesterday.   I thought the Fancy Pants Arctic Chill papers went perfect with the colors in their winter gear.  Have to send a big shout out to Tanya L for giving me the 12X12 piece to work with.  I have all these 6X12 pieces that I saved from the flooding in the basement in the fall, so she came to my rescue.

pattern paper-Arctic Chill Fancy Pants
buttons-Delight Fancy Pants
stickers- Wintertime Echo Park
ribbon-Stampin' Up!
ink-dark brown and charcoal from Colorbox
letters-Jillibean Soup

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a scrappy great day!

Love Letters Trail Makers Challenge

I decided to try my hand at a couple cards this time with February's The Paper Trail Kit.
Have you seen the Love Letters Challenge posted yet at Trail Makers?

Here's the first one...
It was very easy to make.  All I did was distress the sides of the card, ink it up.  Then I punched out a heart on a piece of paper and cut my heart out by hand on my Kraft cs.  I cut out a heart from the die cut piece that is included in the kit...L for lace(on the heart).  I inked up the whole Kraft cs and made sure I sponged around the heart cutout.  I attached a piece of the fabric trim border...T for trim.  Then I used a border punch and I was going to use the scallop, but I didn't like it.  So, I used the strip that was left from the border punch...E for edge punch.  Cut a tiny piece of ribbon and tied in a knot...R for ribbon.  Stamped 3 times hugs to you using the Everyday Life greetings set from My Pink Stamper...S for stamp.

Supplies used:
ridinghood red cs from Stampin Up!, crumb cake ink pad from Stampin Up!, pearls from Kaisercraft and black memento ink pad

and here's the other one...
It doesn't meet all the qualifications for the challenge, but thought I would share! I love how I just figured out that you can stick the larger pearls into a button.  It looks pretty cool!
I used the Everyday Life greetings stamps from My Pink Stamper too.

Supplies used:
from my stash...crumb cake SU ink pad, black memento ink and pearl

Thanks again to our wonderful sponsor...

Thanks for stopping by today! Can't wait to see what you come up with for the Love Letter challenge! Remember if  you participate you have a chance to be our Guest Designer for April or even a chance at winning the Everyday Life Greeting stamp set for FREE.
This kit is very yummy and pretty.
Hope you are having a scrappy great day!

February The Paper Trail Kit

I love sketches... It helps me get my creative juices flowing. Here's a sketch I used from Creative Scrappers for my debut layout at Trail Makers.
It did kind of take on a personality of its own, but I like how it turned out!

This kit is just absolutely beautiful, but I am so afraid of it!!! I finally just opened the bag and started pulling out papers and cringed as I cut the paper.  This paper is just too beautiful to cut.  I decided to make a frame by cutting a square out of the middle.  I went down 101/2" and when I went up I stopped at 11/2" on each side.  So, then I had a square in the middle that pulled out.  I then took and cut narrow 1" strips all the way around.  I started to use a pen to roll them, but it was so much easier to roll 4 at a time with my fingers.  On the transparency, I stamped Families are Forever and Love in Staz On with My Pink Stamper's Everyday Life stamp set.  I used a yellow sharpie to color the glitter on the Prima flower and used my dark brown Chalkbox ink pad to distress it a little.
Have you ever had a picture that you have laying around forever because you love it so much and want to make sure that you have just the right paper for it?  Well, this is one that I have pulled out and have had laying for at least a year.  I decided this was the paper.  I think that it was a great choice.  Thanks for looking! You better rush over to the store and grab this kit.  You can sit and smell the paper and oogle over it for a few days before you start using it!:)

Here's a picture of the February Main Kit...

and of the Add On Kit...

Last but not least I want to shout out a big Thank You to My Pink Stamper for sponsoring us this month and sending us DT Members all the Everyday Life stamp set to use with our projects this month.  Robyn is just such a sweetie.
