NonHalloween Layout for TrailMakers Challenge Blog

I used this sketch from Let's Capture These Sketches!
I had so much fun completing this layout. I feel like it's been so long since I've taken some time for myself and so playing with my scrappy supplies and with the Scribble Scrabble Jeepers Creepers line Karen sent me made me happy. Nothing like a little scrappy therapy!!!
Supplies:
Scribble Scrabble Jeepers Creepers diecuts
Scribble Scrabble Jeepers Creepers Spooky Sampler
Scribble Scrabble Jeepers Creepers I Want Candy
black diamond stickles

My stash:
cardstock: Stampin Up
ink: colorbox chalk ink, glimmermist
buttons: odds and ends
letters: felt American Crafts
gems: Kaisercraft
As I was cropping my layout I realized I didn't even put the date of when it was taken and journal on it! It was taken two summers ago when my husband's friend went to an auction and found this "awesome" boat on a boat trailer for only $200. The catch is...the boat doesn't work...LOL!!! My husband's friend delivered it when my little brother and his family were here redoing our bathroom. Even though it just sat in the driveway, the kids were absolutely mesmerized by it. They spent most of the weekend sitting in there with the dogs and playing. My SIL and I had to snap some pictures of their silliness.

I have 3 tips this week. (That's what happens when you are in scrappy therapy mode.)
Tip #1: When you put buttons on and want a more finished look and want it to be fast....use embroidery thread. It only takes one or two times to go through the holes and you are done!
Tip #2: If you want colored gems and you don't have any...use a sharpie or bic permanent marker. That way you can have any color you want to match your pages!
Tip #3: If you buy Scribble Scrabble paper, make sure you use the bottom label portion of your paper too. That's what the black and white piece is with the zigzag stitch on my layout. I just cut it in half.
So, do you have some Halloween paper laying around and no Halloween pictures, aren't in the mood to scrap Halloween pictures...then this is the challenge for you?! Can't wait to see what you create! Make sure you are checking the TrailMakers store for a great sale and then be checking back at http://www.trailmakers.blogspot.com/  on November 1st for some changes that you won't want to miss. I promise!!

Halloween Luminary

Supplies:
paper-sahara sand cardstock Stampin Up, The Boo Crew Jeepers Creepers Scribble Scrabble
Ink- colorbox charcoal chalk ink, pumpin pie stampin up classic ink, sahara sand stampin up classic ink
ribbon-offray and scrap within reach
brads-basic grey
stamps-Nikki Sivils
template-Pillowbox Krisis Kreations from Scrapable.net

I was messing around with the pillow box template the other day and accidentally figured out that if you put two together it makes a square.  I thought it wouldn't it be cool to make a Halloween "scary" luminary! I cut off the bottom edges of the pillow box.  I think it looks like it has legs.  Then I put it together and stamped it. I just double sided taped a piece of the pattern paper ghost inside of it and took my circle punch and punched it.  I wrapped the wire around the brads and took a pen and wrapped the wire around the pen to get that real tight effect. VOILA! There you have it!!!

Here's the template that I used!
You can find it here at Scrapable.

A Card for LCOM Using Some Pyrus....some Scrappy Goodness!!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock-Bazzill
Pattern Paper-Creative Imaginations Piece of Cake (from Paper Trails store)
Buttons-Fancy Pants and Bo Bunny
Rhinestone-Bo Bunny
Letters-October Afternoon
Journaling reads...It's during these moments when I wish I knew what you were wishing for. So serious you can be my little man! August 2008

I made my own banner out of the second pattern paper from above by cutting the diamonds in half and then using a jelly roller and outlining the triangles to kind of mock the candle's outlines.  I also cut the paper and rolled it to create a fun look.  Now come on get creating...banners are so in right now and I know that almost every scrapbook page you do you put a banner on, so enter it by 5pm EST on Saturday, 23 October at the Trail Makers blog.

LCOM card and My New Bloggity Blog

Here's our sketch for this week and our added challenge is to add bling.
Here's what I did with it!
Supplies
Cardstock: Stampin Up
Pattern paper: Cosmo Cricket
Chipboard: Cosmo Cricket
Ink: Stampin UP
Letters: Making Memories
Bling: Kaisercraft
I remember when I got Nutmeg.  I had earned it at my local scrapbooking store because I had spent my ungodly amount on scrapbooking supplies.  Then I came home and called my scrappy friend and gloated that I got it for "free".  Well it's one of the papers that I lost most of in the basement flood.  Yep...I had to cut all but about 51/2 X12" away off of every sheet.  Over 1/2 of the chipboard sheet is ruined and wet.  So, now I won't be scrapping too much unless I use pieces of it and cardstock.  Enough of sad stuff!!!! I have lots of papers to make cards now!:) Please stop over to LCOM and enter your card!
On another note, my blog....can you believe it! Isn't it like absolutely FAB! Nah!!! I didn't do it! No way!!! Kristine Davidson!!!! She is so talented!!! So easy to work with! She'll fix your blog up to make it look spiffy! I'm hoping  you like it too and it makes you want to come back and see what silly things I will be saying or what cool projects I will be posting.

Pillowbox Release from Krisis Kreations

Isn't this just adorable? It went together so quickly and a gift card would fit in there perfectly.  It's a great way to dress up a gift card.  I printed the template directly onto the pattern paper and then just used my fingernail and my scoring blade to score the dashed lines.
Supplies:
Paper -Cosmo Cricket
Chipboard -Cosmo Cricket
Ribbon -Stampin Up
Ink -Colorbox
I know you will want to race right over to Scrapable and get it .  Yep, not scrapmatters, but Scrapable. Krisi is guesting there this month.  Be sure to check out her blog to see all the other great creations made with the pillowbox template.
