Mission to Create is a new blog where each design team member gives you "something" that you need to include on your card. You can use as many of the elements as you want. One week they do a scrapbook page and the other week they do a card. It's a pretty ingenious idea I think. This is the first week I have felt good enough to participate since they started, but I have been checking them out. This week they wanted you to use beads, brown, distressing, decorative edge paper and a vintage item. Here's my card. Thanks for looking!
Have you seen Nikki Sivils 6X6 Mini Pads? Here is the Sweet Cherry Pie one. They are perfect for cardmakers. I made this card with a few of the papers. So easy! This weekend I hope to play around a little more and see what I can come up with.
This is Victoria's Street. I played around with this one and made a Welcome! card. I think I am going to be getting a new neighbor this summer. There's some digging going on down the road from me. I'm telling you these papers are just the right size for cardmakers. The designs in them are smaller than on the 12X12 papers and that way you aren't cutting up that nice big piece of paper for a card....less guilt!!!
Thanks for looking today! I will be a lot more active very soon! Only a few more days left of teaching and I am feeling so much better. Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers over the past month. I am feeling so much better! It's so great to feel well again! XOXO
They had a crop this weekend at LCOM. There are several of us who couldn't make it because we live like thousands of miles away, so Tanya had Natalie post her sketch online. We have until 12 midnight to email our completed sketch to Tanya. Do you know how long it's been since I've scrapped? At least a month! That's a long time for me! After himming and hawwwing, I fnally decided...I would give this a gooo!!!!
My scrappy friend, also Tanya reminded me of a big thick pad of Prima baby paper I have that I haven't used at all. I bought it last summer and have been saving it for a rainy...windy day! Guess what?! Today was the day!
Here's an up close shot of the journaling. It slides down behind the picture. The leaves to my flowers are circles that I just folded.
Supplies are all from the Prima Nursery Tales Collection except for ribbon scrap from Stampin Up and black diamonds from Kaiser Kraft.
Here's Laura's Sketch 51. So excited...this is my actual "real" first post on my new blog too! I decided to use this sketch to make a Mother's Day card for my Mom. This also works for the Mother's Day card challenge over at The Pink Elephant Challenge Blog. They have card challenges and scrapbook challenges. My card to Mom will be late, but I know she will love it! She totally deserves it! She just spent a week with me after my brain surgery. Yep...I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in early April that was located behind my eye. It was almost 1 cm. large. Praise God that they found it and that all went well. You have to know my Mom...I live 21/2 hours away from her....she hates to drive. She drove all by herself in traffic to get here and stayed here at the house with us for a week. Believe me when she left, there were lots of tears! There truly is nothing like having your Mom around when you are sick! So....here's the card!!!
