Beautiful You with the Share What You Love Designer Series Paper and Accessories

The Beautiful You Stamp Set is such a great set from Stampin' Up! that celebrates being a woman! I don't do enough with this set.  When my Share What You Love Bundle arrived and I opened up the DSP, I thought Beautiful You would look so nice with this paper.  By the way, the feel of the DSP is different.  It's heavier weight and WOW! It's nice!

tranquil tide 4 1/4X11, scored at 5 1/2"

  2. Stamp the dancing girl from Beautiful You in archival basic black and color using stampin' blends.
  3. Stamp happy birthday gorgeous from Beautiful You stamp set in tranquil tide classic ink pad.

  6. I also stamped the inside of the card with Celebrate 3 times.
I found this sketch over at Global Design Project
I love sketches.  They are so fun to use and give me a starting point.

So many fun things happening right now! All the retiring items and the clearance items and then the share what you love bundles that Stampin' Up! has put out so that we can become absolutely beyond excitement about the new catalog debut on June 1st.  One of the things I love about being a demonstrator is being able to see the catalog and actually order from it before June 1st.  I know that I am a very good customer to me, but it's because I love the product that Stampin' Up! creates.  They are constantly coming out with something new to surprise me and make me oohhh and aaahhh over!

Amazing Congratulations ....Stampin' Up! Style

Have you ever ordered a stamp set and then forgot that you had it?
Then when you realize you have it....it feels like Christmas!
I know none of you have ever experienced that feeling of Euphoria before....LOL! :)
I bought Amazing Congratulations back in February and am just now getting around to using it for the first time.  I am glad that no one chose it as a prize for my BINGO event .
I am so happy that the sun is shining and spring/summer is certainly in the air.  My body was craving natural Vitamin D after all the yucky germs that seemed to cling to me like velcro this winter. and into early spring.

So, here's the card I made using the stamp set Amazing Congratulations...

Measurements:

whisper white stampin up cardstock cut at 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".
whisper white stampin up cardstock 4 X 5 1/4"

Directions:

1. Fold scored base in 1/2 and set aside.
2. Stamp Congratulations from Amazing Congratulations in Pineapple Punch.  It is a 2 step stamp set, but I did not try to create any shadowing effect.  I went from the pad to the paper.  A hint....I got better coverage when I turned the pad upside down and actually applied ink to the stamp.  Then stamp the little one in the archival basic black.
3. Ink Bella up using the archival black stampin up pad and stamp on the whisper white.
4.  Color with stampin blends markers.  Please see product list below and the photos for correct marker color.
5.  Using the clouds from the Up and Away thinlit die set, cut 2 small clouds and 1 medium size.  I placed mini popup dots on the backs of the clouds to give it some dimension and texture.
6. Adhere to the whisper white card base.
Over at Muse Card Club,  Challenge #267 started on Monday.  I fell in love with the card.  I was very inspired by the colors, the big words at the bottom and the idea of using an cute animal.  Thanks so much Tracey for the inspiration.

I am going to  talk about the Color Revamp over several days because it can be a bit overwhelming, exciting and sad.

Today, I want to share with you the new incolors that are coming aboard in the 2018 catalog.
 Here they are....

2018-2020 InColors

sandileescraps.blogspot.com

I love the bright primary feel of these colors.  Pineapple punch really does give you a nice punch of yellow and brightens up my card.  The Stampin' Up! pads are also newly formulated and in a new design, which I am loving.  Instead of pushing the pad open and pulling it back.  Now you open it up and then push it back.  You can order these now as a preorder if you don't want to wait until June 1st.

With the new things coming aboard, that means that we have to say goodbye to some faves!
Here are a list of retiring colors that will only be available until May 31st or until supplies last.

On May 31, 2018, thirteen colors are retiring.

4 Reasons Why You Need the Oh Happy Day Kit from SU!

I know that our lives become so crazy busy that we need something easy to grab for that handmade card, to feed your fix for some crafty time.  I went to see my daughter at college this weekend.  I was greeted with a bouquet of flowers and a homemade card that she made with the Oh Happy Day Kit I got her for her birthday.
Have you seen the kit?
Just in case you haven't... here it is!

You can make 20 cards with this kit, so it works out to just  a little over $2 per card.
It comes with the stamp set, black inkspot, acrylic block, embellishments and cards and envelopes.
You can either make the cards exactly the way they are shown in the samples above or you can deviate from them and add your own flair to them.  My daughter said she really liked the fact that if she had the option to put her own creative spin on it or just copy the sample picture and directions.

So, there you have it...my top 4 reasons why you need the Oh Happy Day Card Kit....

  1. Economical
  2. A homemade card where there's no thinking involved.
  3. A homemade card that you can be a little creative and put your own spin on.
  4. All supplies are in the box that you need and all the papers are cut!
Can you think of any other reasons why you think you need this kit?
I would love to hear your reasons!

Here are 3 cards that my daughter made with the kit...

2 Card Folds that are WAY Easier Than I Even Thought!

I always see these amazing card folds and I think ...oh my...I'm not sure I can even do that, so I can't create that for a stamp club or a class and expect my customers to do it?!
BUT I decided to step out of my box and that I needed a little FUN in my crafty life! I loved the result! If I can do these 2 card folds, so can YOU! My VIPeeps loved these cards and wanted me to make sure I put the directions here so that they can recreate them again in the near future.  I'm hoping these will inspire you to try folds and just GO FOR IT, too!!!
The 2 secrets to making these cards flow and work well:
*use coordinating pattern paper, cardstocks and inks
*and good scored lines.

pick a pattern designer series paper...2 3/4 X 41/4

Directions:

  1. Fold the crumb cake cardstock  in 1/2 at the 5 1/2 score line and then the 2 3/4 score line gets folded up.
  2. The emerald envy gets folded in 1/2 at the 6" score line and then folded up at the the 3" score line.
  3. Place the designer series paper on the top flap of the crumb cake stampin up cardstock.
  4. Stamp the bear from the pieces and patterns stamp set on the white cardstock with crumb cake and the Why, Thank You with the archival basic black stampin up stamp pad.  On the other piece of white cardstock, stamp the circles at the bottom.

  6. Layer the flirty flamingo cardstock and the whisper white on top of the emerald envy cardstock.
  7. Wrap the black and white baker's twine 3 times around the top of the card and tie in a bow.

2 3/4 X 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4"
whole lot of lovely stampin up designer series paper....3 X 4 and 2 1/2 X 4

Directions:

  1. Layer the scored pool party stampin up cardstock and the 3 X 4 piece of whole lot of  lovely designer series paper on the 4 1/2 X 5 1/2 piece of pool party stampin up cardstock.
  2. Layer the whole lot of  lovely designer series paper (2 1/2 X 4) on the front of the card.
  3. Stamp the thinking of you stamp from lots of love in archival basic black stampin pad on the   2 X 4 whisper white stampin up cardstock  and adhere to the inside.
  4. Stamp sending lots of love towards the top of the 2 3/4 X  3 3/4 whisper white cardstock, stamp the leaf in pear pizzaz and the flower in pool party on top of the greeting.  If I made this card again, I would stamp the flower on the right side of the greeting.  Adhere the whisper white to the pool party 3X4 piece of cardstock.
  5. Tie a piece of pool party shimmer ribbon around the bottom of the 3X4 piece and adhere to the left side of the card.  Please make sure you are only putting adhesive on the rt back of the greeting piece, so it won't stick to the whole card.
  6. Use the photo(s)  to help you with placement.  Please see the links below for a complete product list of the card above.
